Women's Basketball League

Get your teams together and get ready for Pearce's Winter Women's Basketball League. Teams of 8-12 players will compete weekly throughout the 8 week season.

 

 

 

 

 

Men's Basketball League

No Teams have signed up for the league and if no teams have signed up by the end of February the League will be cancelled.

Get your teams together and get ready for Pearce's Winter Men's Basketball League. Teams of 8-12 players will compete weekly throughout the 8 week season. The season will start when the minimum number of teams requirement is met.

Rules for 2008 Season

1. Games are 2, 20 minute halves with a continuous clock.
2.
Teams are allowed 3 time-outs per half (2, 60sec. & 1, 30sec.). The clock stops during timeouts, side -outs and on fouls for the last minute of the first half and the last 2 minutes of the game. Players may call time-outs on dead ball situations, and/or when the team in possession of the ball calls the time-out.
3.
Games must start on time! Any team not on the floor with at least 4 rostered players can pick-up a player that is not already on another team roster to start the game, only if agreed upon by the other team captain. If other team captain okay’s the pick-up of another player, the game is official and will not result in a forfeit.
4.
Free throws are shot the last minute of the first half and the last 2 minutes of the second half, the clock will stop during this time. The leading team must shoot, trailing team has the option to shoot or keep possession. If the score is tied, the team that is fouled has the choice of the ball out, or two shots, or three shots if it was a 3pointer. There will be an automatic 2 shots on any foul except for the 3-point shooter (3 free throws will be awarded). Two free throws and the possession of the ball will be awarded on any intentional foul through out the entire game.
If any team is ahead by 20 or more, the clock will run continuously during free throws. A free throw will be awarded on a made basket if a foul is called on a shot and the shot is good.

Each player is allowed 6 fouls per game. On the 6th foul the player is out of the game.
6.
Sub on Defense only and in timeout situations. Players not in the game must stay behind green line. 1st violation - results in warning, 2nd violation results in Technical foul. NO EXCEPTIONS!
7.
LOUD ABUSIVE LANGUAGE IS NOT TOLERATED. Technical fouls will be given to any player/team swearing audibly determined by the officials. The opposing team shoots two free throws and retains possession of the ball. Any player receiving a 2nd "T" is kicked out of that game and the gym for the night. If a player receives a 2nd "T," that player will not be allowed to play their next scheduled game. Use of the “F” word will result in an immediate ejection!
8.
If a fight breaks out during play, the players involved must leave the facility. ABSOLUTELY NO EXCEPTIONS. (1st occurrence players are out for the session)
9. I
n the event any spectators leave the bleachers to come onto the floor, they will ejected from PCC and not allowed back in for 1 year. Spectators are to stay in the large gym and not stand around the track.
10.
The 3-point line is in effect; the officials will make judgment as to it's validity.
11.
Jump ball situations are on a rotating possession, starting with the team losing the jump ball
at the start of the game.

12.
A team can have up to 10 players on a roster and two subs. All players must be high school age or above. If a player is out for the season the team can add 1 player to roster.
13.
All players signed up to play on that night must be on that team roster to be eligible to play. Players can be added up to the 2nd week of play. A non-rostered player playing after the 2nd week, can/will result in a forfeit for that game. It is the CAPTAIN’S RESPONSIBILITY to keep the rosters CORRECT.
14.
ALL PLAYERS MUST CHECK IN WITH PLAYER CARDS UPON ENTERING
PCC.

15.
Non-members must purchase a $25.00 user pass(only needs to be purchased one time) to be presented to the front desk upon entering every night or pay a $5.00 daily fee.
16.
Clean shoes are necessary to play.
17. A
bsolutely no arguing with the scorekeeper/official. Excessive arguing may result in ejection. NO EXCEPTIONS!
18.
Shorts must be tied. No undergarments shall show. Technical fouls will be issued if this becomes a problem.
19.
No hats, caps, scarves, or dew rags. Only sweatbands allowed.
20.
The officials will call 3-second violations. Excessive pushing, shoving, talking in the lane will not be tolerated.
21.
A Shirt must be worn at all times while outside of the locker room. NO EXCEPTIONS!
22.
Players, guests, and spectators must stay in new gym and not use the track or old gym unless they are members or they pay $5.00 at the front desk. No running on the track and kids must be attended to.
23.
No food or drinks are allowed in either gym. NO EXCEPTIONS!
24.
No changing in gym. Lockers are available in the locker room. Be sure to lock your locker. Pearce is not responsible for lost/stolen items.
25.
Players’ roster must be filled out completely. NO EXCEPTIONS!

 

 

 

 

 

 

Pick-up Basketball

Monday nights the old gym will be open to adults over the age of 18 to play pick-up basketball. Teams will be selected weekly and no commitment is required. Members play free and nonmembers pay the normal gate fee. Rules:

1) Everyone must wear a shirt at all times

2) No vulgar or obscene language will be tolerated

3) If someone is there to play they get to play
