Fitness  
Included in your membership & before you are allowed to use the fitness equipment, a Pearce Fitness Instructor will schedule a fitness orientation. This will include a medical history review, blood pressure check and if desired, a body composition. This training will include instruction in strength, cardio and free weight areas.
 
FITNESS ROOMS
The Strength Training area houses numerous pieces of Cybex and Camstar equipment. The cardiovascular area includes popular cardio equipment such as:
  • Stairmasters
  • Treadmills
  • Concept II rowing machines
  • Semi-recumbent & upright bicycles
  • Schwinn Aerdyne bicycles
  • Elliptical Riders
The mirrored free-weight room hosts a full line of free weights and accessories that include cable crossovcers, squat racks, Smith machine, bench press, paramount leg press and more.
 
PCC will be renovating the fitness area this year...so look for a more open and expanded fitness department.
 
JUNIOR FITNESS CERTIFICATION
A unique certification class for PCC Members between ages 12 - 14 years. After completing this class to the satisfaction of our Fitness Instructors, younger members of PCC will be allowed access to the Cardiovascular, Strength and Free Weights rooms. Participants will be given the proper knowledge needed to use the Fitness Areas in a safe, productive manner. Class includes instruction in proper lifting and spotting techniques, workout etiquette, rules and examples of workouts.
 

 
GYMS & TRACK
PCC has 2 gyms for league play as well as pick up basketball and volleyball games. Our indoor track is the perfect place to run or walk in any season. To help keep you motivated, we offer several Walking Incentives.
 
FITNESS INCENTIVES
  • Walking - Walk along old Route 66 from Normal, Il to St. Louis.
  • Swimming - West Palm Beach to South Beach, FL - 60 miles; LA to San Diego, CA - 100 miles; and the Hawaiian Islands - 200 miles..
  • Weight Lifting Wall of Fame - 400, 600, 800 and 1,000 pound Clubs. Combine the weight totals of 3 successful lifts on the bench press, power clean and squat to earn a place on the Wall of Fame.
  • Moonwalk 2007- PALM Health Program has a community goal of 1.5 million miles and runs from March 30- June 29. Registration is $5.00 and ongoing. For more information, contact Laurie at ext. 107, or visit their website at www.palmpeoria.org/moonwalk
