Running Club

Open to all ages and skill levels. Runners should bring their own water, reflective gear, and head lamp. Weekly runs held in the evening year round and are led by Illinois Valley Strider Bill Holmes.

Winter Session: Tuesdays and Thursdays, January 9 – March 15, 2018 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
Spring Session: Tuesdays and Thursdays, March 27 – May 31, 2018 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.

Tap Dance Class

Lots of fun; great exercise too! Learn basic dance steps and combinations. Instructed by Gene Buckingham. Tap shoes required.

AARP Safe Driving Course

In Illinois, if an individual is 55 or older, the primary driver of a vehicle, has a good driving record, and takes a course approved by the Secretary of State, all automobile insurance companies must provide a discount on automobile insurance premiums. Participants must attend both days to receive credit from their automobile insurance company.

The course fits the needs of anyone older than 50; however, those under 50 are also invited to attend. The course is a total of eight hours offered in two four-hour sessions.

Thursday and Friday March 15 and 16, 2018 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Thursday and Friday September 13 and 14, 2018 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

AARP membership is not required; however, AARP members pay only $15; non-members pay $20.

CPR Training and Certification

Hosted by Pearce in the spring and fall and conducted by an accredited agency. Training includes chest compressions, breathing, and using an AED.

Pickleball is a racquet sport that combines elements of badminton, tennis, and table tennis. Equipment consists of a wooden paddle, a polymer wiffle ball, and a net that sits four inches lower than a tennis net. A pickleball court is half the size of a tennis court. The smaller area combined with the slower moving ball makes pickleball much easier to play.

One of our gyms is set up for pickleball each Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Free to members; $5 non-members.

Game Room

The Game Room on the second floor features a pool table, shuffleboard, and Ping-Pong table. Open to adults 21 and older each Saturday and Sunday during Center hours. Under 21 welcome but must use the Game Room with an adult 21 and older.

Weight Watchers

Come in one-half hour early for registration and weight-in.
