Recreational Programs - Youth - Day Camps

2010-2011 After School Program and day camps

Pearce Camps are something fun and safe for kids to do during the after school hours or during school vacations. Activities may include: gym time, swimming, outdoor games, computer lab, field trips to a nearby park, playground, library, or interesting business, arts and crafts, and much, much more. Campers need to bring a daily sack lunch, swim gear, and a smile. Pearce will provide a daily afternoon snack.

Camp is for children ages 6-10 years. It is preferred the youngest campers attend kindergarten before starting camp. After School Program runs from 3:00-6:00pm, Monday-Friday during the school year. Each day camp runs from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Pre-registration is required as camp space is limited.

Financial Help. The Chillicothe Park District in conjunction with Pearce Community Center will be able to help a limited number of families that qualify for the IVC District #321 reduce lunch program through the PowerPlay! Grant. For more information on how to apply for financial help, please contact Mallory Audo at 274-4209 ext. 109.

2010-2011 Day Camp Information

Pearce day camps are fun-filled days when school is out and parents/guardians have to work. Activities may include gym time, swimming, outdoor games, computer lab, Exergame room, library, field trips to local parks, playgrounds, arts and crafts and much, much more. Campers need to bring a daily sack lunch, a smile and be ready to have fun!

Camp is for students in kindergarten through 6th grade. Each camp runs from 8:30am-5:00pm daily. Space is limited and prior registration is required.

2010 Summer Camp

June 1, 2010 - August 13, 2010
Summer Camp will run Monday-Friday from 8:00 AM-6:00 PM.

Camp activities will include:

  • Fitness classes
  • Nutrition class sponsored by the University of Illinois Extension Program
  • Peoria Chief's Baseball Game
  • Summer Science with Sharon
  • Messy Thursday's Art Program
  • Summer Reading Program sponsored by the Chillicothe Public Library
  • Field Trips to local Police and Fire Stations, Post Office & City Hall
  • Swimming at Chillicothe Park District's Shore Acres Pool
    And much, much more!

Participants are required to bring a sack lunch, swim suit and towel, and their own sunscreen daily.
